Conclusion
-the scar of CHINESE HISTORY
Mao’s Responsibilities
The Chinese Cultural Revolution caused the deaths of millions of people, with thousands being killed by the Red Guards. Numerous artifacts from the glorious ancient history were destroyed. People were killed not because of real guilts, but because of some “assumed” guilt accused by the Red Guards of going against the proletarian creation. If Mao did not grant the Red Guards rights to carry out the actions needed to reform people’s minds, all the destructions and persecutions would not have been that massive, and Mao himself would not have held too much responsibilities. The Red Guards were only performing Mao’s thoughts because they supported Mao, and the ultimately responsible person is still Mao himself. Overall, the Red Guard Movement effectively demonstrated the idea that giving out more rights means holding on to more responsibilities.

Impact and Legacy
Although the Red Guard Movement ended quickly, its impact lasted until today. Today, there are not many historical buildings left in China. As the government continues to progress under Communism, it remained its complete control of the people.
Youths in China today are required to become Young Pioneers, or young people who supports the Chinese government, and must where little red scarfs when going to school. There are many songs about showing faith to the Communist government that are taught in schools. These impact and legacy proved the Red Guard Movement to be powerful and influential, negatively and positively.
